"Inner Pipeline"
Would you like to make a real difference in the life of a young person?
Are you interested in the current world of K-12+ education in schools and the
community?
Are you looking to fulfill the 60 hour required observation for the Masters
in Teaching program?
If you answered "yes" to any of the above, then participating in the "Inner Pipeline" is for you.
Since Winter of 1998, the Pipeline Project has offered UW students the opportunity to earn credit for tutoring, mentoring, or conducting research in schools and community organizations while exploring a variety of educational topics. We offer a number of EDUC 401 seminars each quarter entitled "Inner Pipeline." Students will attend seminars (5-7 throughout the quarter) and tutor in a school or community organization for 2.5 hours - 5 hours per week. Students generally earn 2-3 credits depending on the seminar and number of hours spent tutoring.
Spring Quarter Inner Pipeline seminars include:
Inner Biology, Inner Digital Learning Commons, Inner General K-12, Inner Literacy in the Criminal Justice System, Inner Math and Science, Inner Poetry and Nonfiction, Inner Race and Ethnicity and Returning Inner.
