Although ENGL 282 is a prerequisite,
Professor Dillon will consider equivalent experience. ENGL 282
introduces students to: Basics of (X)HTML code and CSS needed to
produce simple websites; critical theories of the internet and hypertext
in regards to the rhetoric of the internet writing genre. Students who
have not taken ENGL 282 but feel that they are qualified to enroll in

In this class students can expect to learn 1) how to design a web page
(or set of pages) using DIVs and style sheets for layout; 2) how to
analyze and evaluate a page/site for design, navigation, and content; 3)
how to write multimedia documents in HTML using images and sound; 4) how
to use secondary windows; 5) how to use several of the new features of
Internet Explorer 7. This is a studio course in computer lab. All work
is electronic, posted to student's web site at dante. Some familiarity
with Cascading Style Sheets and HTML markup is recommended. Assignments
will include exercises and design problems, a group project, web site
evaluation, and final project. Additional information at
