Don't know if it's Safari or OS X issue , but you can select which
external program you want to open when viewing text/html attachments ,
for instance if i want to view them in firefox:
( the file goes to the same place where you have .pinerc )
~$ vim .mailcap
text/html; /usr/bin/firefox-3.0 -new-tab %s;
and when i select to view it in an external viewer it opens it in a
previous open firefox app, if any is already running otherwise it opens a
new one. so you can check if there is a an option on safari for
something like this or else you can always switch to firefox ;)
.note
or if you want to open it in a new window:
text/html; /usr/bin/firefox-3.0 -new-window %s;

I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.
