I'm not able to reproduce the problem. Maybe I don't quite have it right.

I tried with a local MIX INBOX with a filter moving to another local
folder when some pattern matches. The first alpine moves matching
messages, marks them deleted, and hides them from view. The message is
still physically in the folder but it is hidden by the alpine that
filtered it.

If I start a second alpine with the same configuration it does not move
the message again and does not show it either.

If I then run a third alpine that doesn't have the same configuration and
doesn't have that filter, I can see the Deleted message in the inbox. If I
exit out of either of the original two alpines the deleted message is
expunged.

What do I need to do differently to see the problem you're seeing? Thanks.
