Thank you Steve and Mark for your thoughtful comments. I like Mark's idea 
a lot. However, in this case, the problem was more basic. The filter was 
misconfigured by my part. It turns out I have several filters and some of 
them are configured correctly, some are not, so I was using my memory of 
how I had set up the correct one, on the ones I had set up incorrectly.

I apologize for the false report, as well as for taking so long to reply.
