[Alpine-info] Trying to get Web Alpine to work

Greetings -

We are currently evaluating a number of webmail packages with a view  
to replacing the Prayer software we are currently using.

I am keen to get Web Alpine working, but am having terrible  
difficulties.  Some of these are conceptual, others may be a setup  
problem wither with Web Alpine and/or the backend IMAP server.

My first question is...

Does a user have to already have a remote_pinerc folder on the IMAP  
server before Web Alpine will with with it?  Or if this folder doesn't  
exist yet, will Web Alpine "do something sensible"?

I'm afraid I have other questions that will follow, but I want to get  
this basic one out of the way first.  :-}
