It might be, but isn't going to happen.  The code in question was 
rewritten for UIDPLUS.  There isn't anything simple that can be turned 
off.

If someone wants to uphold the banner of traditional UNIX format and its 
right to live against the entire IMAP developer community, please be my 
guest.  I held off for a decade and finally had to throw in the towel.
