[Alpine-info] enable-incoming-folders

I'm having some problems here with alpine 2.00.

In the system-wide alpine.conf file, I have
inbox-path={math.missouri.edu/ssl/novalidate-crt}INBOX
and
folder-collections=imap {math.missouri.edu/ssl/novalidate-cert}[]

When I first start alpine (with no user .pinerc file) I get:
Can't open folder {math.missouri.edu/ssl/novalidate-crt}INBOX: invalid remote specification
before it even prompts me for a userid or password.

It doesn't prompt for a uid/pw until I do a "folder list". At that
point I can see the imap folder collection, but INBOX is empty
unless I have

feature-list=enable-incoming-folders
which I don't want as a system default.

Is there some setting I'm overlooking?

Thanks!
Rich
