[Alpine-info] Alpine pword no longer working

I just "updated" Alpine via YUM.  If I invoke Alpine with `alpine 
-passfile ~/.pword` I get the following:

To      : /home/fleet/.pword at localhost.localdomain
Cc      :
Attchmnt:
Subject :
----- Message Text -----

No menu.  ~/.pword exists; but if viewed with a text reader the contents 
appear to be total gibberish.

If I invoke Alpine without attempting to use -passfile, I get the menu as 
normal; but I have to enter a password to send mail.

How do I restore, if I need to, .pword or get `alpine -passfile ~/.pword` 
to work properly?

And why isn't the -passfile option listed in the Alpine man pages?
