Comcast just updated my pop3 mailbox. It's now got a fancy new
<retch> "web interface" they call a "SmartZone Communications Center"
And of course the only help they give is to tell me how to get a very
few mail clients like outlook working from windows...

I usually use pine 4.64 or alpine 2.00 depending on which linux distro
I booted that day. (I use whichever is in that distro's repositories)
In both cases the incoming-folders list in the .pinerc includes:

"comcast_jtwdyp_pop3box" {mail.comcast.net:110/novalidate-cert/user=jtwdyp/service =pop3}inbox,

But I get an error when either a filter tries to move messages to a
local folder, or when I try to use the save command to do so.

pine 4.64 comcast save shrinks... pine filter to move messages to local 
mailbox folder already failed... attempted a manual save got these
two messages:

               [Message to save shrank!  (#1: 867 --> 865)]
                  [Save to folder "mail/nowbox" FAILED]

I pasted the messages into a message to myself and sent it. So I could
retrieve it with my desktop where I've got alpine running under
kubuntu...(an exported (header mode) copy of that message is attached
in case the headers point to anything significant...) Note My old
ttlc.net maibox is configured to forward to my comcast mailbox...
(I keep the ttlc for two reasons. (I don't want to ask everyone to
update their address books. & it gives me a dial-up account I can use
from my laptop if/when I travel)

Several of the messages appear to have no message bodies unless I use
header mode. Which defeats any mime decoding... <sigh>
