Robert,

You can use the ";" command to select messages that match a criteria. For 
example that they have a certain status, like important, set.

Once you press that command, read the menu in the bottom to figure out 
which option is appropriate at each stage.

Once you are done selecting, press the "a" command to apply the same 
command to all selected messages. In this case, again, read the menu in 
the bottom at each stage for the complete list of available commands.
