It's done though as there was an alpine project already I named the new
one Re-Alpine - Reborn Alpine.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/re-alpine/

I've picked git as the SCM system since I'm most familiar with it and
because I believe it provides the greatest flexibility on providing
patches.

What I already did:
Setup two mailing lists:
setup re-alpine-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net - all bug/patch submissions
setup re-alpine-devel at lists.sourceforge.net - general discussion, patches et...

Imported all public Alpine releases since 0.8 to 2.00 and tagged them.
Thus:
http://re-alpine.git.sourceforge.net/

Shows each release and tag. I also made the imports as UW Alpine Team so
that it is known that none of that code has been modified from the
original release code. And also to make it easy to track copyright.

I've added two of my own screenshots to the project but will accept
others as well.

As I'm not familiar with how Alpine is written I can't define proper
categories for the bug-tracker so would appreciate a list or even people
who would like to co-maintain the pages. If you wish to track a mailing
list please subscribe yourself to it.

As well as any developers willing to contribute their time, advice and
patches.

As my first goal I'll try to integrate all the existing patches from:

http://staff.washington.edu/chappa/alpine/

in the following order:
bugfixes
popular
feature

And then release that as Alpine 2.01.

If someone would like to see other fixes please send a git generated
patch as attachment to:

re-alpine-devel at lists.sourceforge.net

Or file it on:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=3D264924&atid=3D1128048

Regards,
