The default of course uses FROMORTO. It sounds like you set "INDEX
FORMAT" to exactly "FROMORTO". If you are specifying INDEX FORMAT you
have to specify all the fields you want

eg (which is the default taken from the help)

STATUS MSGNO SMARTDATETIME24 FROMORTO(33%) SIZENARROW SUBJKEY(67%)
