I think you skipped the word 'contains'. I didn't mean that you should
set the Index Format to 'FROMORTO', just that you should ensure the format
contains the token 'FROMORTO'.

E.g. my current setting:

Index Format = KEYINIT(1) STATUS MSGNO SHORTDATEISO TIME24 SUBJECT FROMORTO TO(12) SIZE

If the 'FROMORTO' were instead 'FROM', the OP's problem might occur.
