[Alpine-info] Alpine timing out

I've been running the latest (last) version of PC-Pine for years now at
work and at home with my configuration stored on an IMAP mail server
running Communigate Pro. Up until a couple months ago its been flawless.
My PC-Pine session at work continues to work fine, but a problem has
appeared at home. It frequently times out reading either longer messages
or opening Message folders that are large (it varies in severity,
sometimes working but most of the time not). During the attempt it prompts
with a "Waited 15 seconds for server reply..still waiting". Then it asks
if I want to break the connection. It never recovers and that's what I
have to do. Sometimes it says my session may not be compatible with TLS
and that I should disable it, but I'm not sure how to do that. It works
fine at work though, so I can't see that being the problem.
I switched to Alpine (Windows) at home hoping that would cure it, but the
exact problem remains. I've had the same error with other computers
running PC-Pine as well, so it's not specific to my home computer. Around
the time the problem began, the SSL certificates on the mail server were
changed from Verisign to a Comodo wild card certificate but if that were
the issue I would have the same problem at work too. I can't think of
anything else that's changed that would explain the problem. Anyone have
any thoughts on this?
