[Alpine-info] [TOOBIG] error saving messages

I wonder if anyone here can help with a mysterious error message.
Our part of the University is going to switch its mail service to
Zimbra Collaboration Suite running locally. We have set up a
test installation, and I am one of the lucky testers. In an
attempt to populate the folders on the test server with mail, I
connected using PC-Alpine 2.00 via IMAP using SSL. I then
selected all the messages in a mailbox on my local machine
containing 44 messages and attempted to save them to a folder on
the Zimbra server. The save failed with a [TOOBIG] error. An
attempt to do the same save to our current mail server (a solaris
machine not using Zimbra) succeeded. I was able to save each
message in the mailbox individually to Zimbra, including some
greater than 5 meg in size. However, groups of messages
containing a large message (>3 meg) generally gave the [TOOBIG]
orror. I append what I hope are the relevant parts of the debug
file (level=2, IMAP=4) below.

My questions:

- Is the [TOOBIG] error coming from the remote server, or
Alpine? (I assume from the remote server.)

- Could/should Alpine cope better with such an error, since it
can save the messages individually?

Additional questions that are not strictly on topic here:

- What is the [TOOBIG] error supposed to mean?

- Is it appropriate for the remote server to issue this error
message under these conditions?
