Go to the configuration menu, search for the option and press ? twice
to see the help screen. As for "Alternate Role (#) Menu", when it is
enabled and you have Roles set up, just press #. It's pretty
self-explanatory.

For browsers also have a look at the configuration setting
"URL-Viewers" and see the archives, there is plenty of examples:
