[Alpine-info] Can Alpine cleanse emails??

I would say it is not (necessarily) an alpine question (I have never used
alpine filtering). To do things like that BEFORE (*really* before) they
get to your alpine, you'd have e.g. to filter them in procmail.

I have procmail arrangements which delete text/html attachments and
replace with a short text/plain notice "attachment deleted", and also
which delete the copy of the message replied to from replies by people
doing top-posting (two more execrable usages). Ask me for details.

You'd have to find an univocal way to tell where your footer starts and
ends.

To play safe, I do remove the unwanted stuff from the message which gets
to my inbox, but I store a copy of the original message in a folder (which
gets rotated and deleted after 7 days).
