Speaking in general, it is a common feature of other POP3 UAs that the
mail can be left on the server. Its been a couple years since I played
with the protocol so I don't recall the details of how it is done, but
it is possible. I have worked with a number of folks who depended on that
feature to access their email from two different computers ...

Switching to IMAP ... not all ISPs offer IMAP access so it may not be
an option.
