Further to the discussion I kicked off with the above, there's now
been an exemplar on this list.  Trying to open the message at
<http://mailman2.u.washington.edu/pipermail/alpine-info/2010-September/003626.html>
reproducibly crashes my Alpine 2.00.  Any ideas, please?
