Way totally nitpicky (I just read the help for that config option)...

The help actually says it's control-\

At least for a US keyboard | is shift-\, I have no idea if Australian 
keyboards are different.  (I suspect they're not.)

I'm only trying to point out that you don't have to hold down shift to type
it.

End of ridiculously nitpicky bit..
