You do not need to.

Case 1: If you are filtering mailing-lists on Gmail, and apply them 
different labels. You then only need to make the filter match also the 
mail you send.

For example, for alpine-info, I created the following filter :
"Has the words:" "list:alpine-info OR to:alpine-info"
"Apply the label:" "list.alpine-info"


Case 2: you are downloading mail from gmail using pop, then you only 
need to fcc outgoing mail in the correct mailing-list folder.
