In pine (4.63) I can compose a message and if the message has numbered
paragrahps or bullet lists, they will be automatically indented and
formatted nicely if I hit ^J after navigating to each paragraph or
bulleted (numbered) list item, like this:
1. The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain until the winter when
it moves to higher elevation.
2. Bach lived from 1685 to 1750. At the age of 14, Bach, along with
his older school friend George Erdmann, was awarded a choral
scholarship to study at the prestigious St. Michael's School in
Lueneburg, not far from the northern seaport of Hamburg, one of the
largest cities in the Holy Roman Empire.[11]
* In January 1703, shortly after graduating and failing an audition
for an organist's post at Sangerhausen,[13] Bach took up a post as a
court musician in the chapel of Duke Johann Ernst in Weimar, a large
town in Thuringia. His role there is unclear, but appears to have
included menial, non-musical duties.
* During his seven-month tenure at Weimar, his reputation as a keyboard
player spread. He was invited to inspect and give the inaugural recital
on the new organ at St. Boniface's Church in Arnstadt.[14]
... you get the idea. I can't find a setting for this in alpine, is it
not supported?
