HEY!!!!!
While "sponsorship" ain't necessarily all that easy a way to go, I've
never thought of myself as a "trained monkey". It would
take a lot more than free equipment to buy my integrity. Although, I'd
sort of like to see what it would take:)
The politics involved can be more than a little daunting, and gender
equality hasn't come quite as far as we would like.(Under-statement)
I went to my Kali (Tai kick-boxing) class this morning and met a woman
who was there visitng because she was in town for the week-end. She was
good, missing her arm BE. While her partner worked with 2 sticks she
defended with one. I'm sending her the listServ's address. She was
interested, never heard of such a thing. I also saw a piece on Stephanie
Bastos, on Dateline Week-end a few weeks ago. She's a fairly recent BK
who came and ran at the Nationals Last year. She was, and is a dancer.
Danced in a production, sans prosthesis for awhile until she got her new
leg. And... I saw the Blue Herons on the lake the other morning. Even
with the prediction of snow for tonight, there's "Spirit-fuel"
everywhere.
As always, I'm completely touched Wayne by how you talk about my
running. Always makes me feel like a stud. I hope you get back to your
training soon:)
Nice tribute to your prosthetist Joe. Like you, and anyone who's
experienced the relief of a GREAT fit, I'm loyal as hell to mine. No
matter what company she works for.
Lindsay
