hi stephen,
anita here, ak/bk.
i have tried the tec liner, the alpha liner, and the iceross, (all on bk, as
ak is total suction).
my entire bk is grafted tissue, so i am hard to fit.
am currently wearing the iceross comfort liner, which i prefer to the
others. also, i wear the pin locking system, although i do prefer the
lanyard suspension system.
the suspension is to be considered on any, and all liners and should be
factored into your equation.
as for complaints, i tried the tec about 8 yrs ago, and did not like it
because it seemed to peel my skin off in layers.
the alpha might've worked, but i found that they didn't offer enough in
varied sizes.
also i tried the thickest alpha, and it was too tough to bend, too much
excess behind the knee.
i like the iceross best, as it gives me cushion, and mobility, however i am
not fond of the "umbrella" part at the bottom of the distal end. this is the
piece whihc holds the pin.
not sure if this is what you required, but if you have more questions, feel
free.
and btw, welcome to the list.
:)

Hello all. I am new to this listserv, so I will describe myself first.
I am a below the knee amputee. Currently I wear a flex foot and a TEC
Liner, the foot I like the liner I do not. I need assistance however. I
am doing research and would like to complile a list of all the complaints
with using polymer liners, like TEC, Alpha and Iceross, etc... Any and
all responses would be of great help to me and my research. Thank you all
for your time and responses. Also has any one heard of or used a Silo
liner. I am very interested in them. Thank you.
