Swimming..

I also agree with George, swimming is much more comfortable and I can move
much more freely and easier sans leg in the water. I leave the leg at home
and crutch it on the beach. Hopping on sand or anywhere else will wreck
your remaining knee. I get into about 2 feet of water, then pass the
crutches off.

The problem with having your crutches sinking into sand and surf can be
rectified. There is a dandy disc shaped tip that can be placed on your
crutches which prevents this. They can be ordered from Tony VanDer Waarde

A while back there was an excellent message about the waterproof cover
(DryPro) which fit over a prosthetic. It appears they work quite well.
Perhaps Wayne can look this up in the archives?
