Phantoms

Sometimes I feel a little anger sweep up in me over phantoms and all 
associated with it.. I have heard a Dr, say it is all in your head and 
you can begin by just not acknowleging it.  I think all nerve pain gets 
lumped into one category and people are encouraged by others to get used 
to it . For some nerve pain issimply too much pain. I tried every 
perscription,tens, alternate therapies etc. Once I visited a nerve 
specialist he found two neuromas that will be operated on this wed. 10. 
Just thinking I may not have to deal with this is exciting.To be 
constantly awakened by shooting electric unbearable leg jerking jolts is 
not acceptable and before one decides that it is a part of a process 
that you will have to accept and deal with or take pills forever for I 
think a pain specialist and nerve specialist should be consulted. I have 
never felt my leg or foot since the amp. over a year ago but could no 
longer deal with the constant nerve pain.Even if I touch the leg a foot 
above the end it triggers more nerve pain as does a breeze or sheet 
touching. I just don't want anyone to try and be brave if they have not 
checked with several different Dr's. and were sure of the source of 
problem. I have an awsome   c.p.,himself an amputee who has given me 
great advice and empowered me as does this list to strive for what is 
the best you can be via another opinion another Dr. or seeking until an 
answer is found.  Dot
