A whine about winter

Hi Susan and all,

Debbie gave a pretty darned good description of the "folks" here in New
Mexico, but I thought I'd chime in anyway.

I moved here four years ago when I met and fell in love with my hubby via the
internet. All I knew about the place was that it had ideal sleeping weather
in the summer. 80 or 85 by day, 55-60 by night. Having survived 34 years in
the humidity of the Ohio Valley I didn't give a darn what the people would be
like!! Well that's not exactly true, I cared quite a bit.

The first thing I noticed when I went to work in Santa Fe/Pecos area was how
friendly everyone was, I couldn't believe it. Complete strangers waved and
said hello and it took me about a month to adjust. Michael and I live in Los
Alamos and I can't tell you how much we simply adore the people here. I work
for a delivery company so meeting people is part of my job. With few
exceptions people are friendly, considerate honest and quite likeable. Of
course the whole state isn't quite Los Alamos, but for the most part the
electic mix of cultures treat one another with respect and I for one find
that to be one of the greatest assets the state has to offer.
