One day eagle-eyed Michael B. found an ambiguity:
WR> The survey is contained in a small booklet and takes about 20
minutes to complete. They provide a return envelope. Payment is $20.
MB> I assume this means that UWash pays *you*, not vice versa. Did they
also promise to send you the results of the study when completed?
That would be a reasonable assumption, unless someone believes they
should pay to be a subject :) Sorry for the ambiguity. Yes, they pay
participants. Real writers know better than to be so ambiguous:) Of
course, we have been surveyed to death. Seems every few months someone
wants to survey amputees for something or other, but rarely are we
offered payment for our effort.
There was no mention if results would be made available to participants.
They did suggest that participants might be contacted via phone for
follow up. They also claim code numbers will be linked to participant's
names to insure confidentiality. I am sure Kellye Campbell, the research
nurse, or Amy Hoffman, the study supervisor, can answer any additional
questions, unambiguously.
