Are You Kidding Me? (parking)

OK...I'm going to release my mute button for just a minute, just long enough for
my input on parking. I'm an LBK so some may feel I'm parking too close.
Yes, I do take advantage of the space often for several reason. Firstly, I can't
predict how my leg, knee, stump or my default foot will feel after I return to my
car. Secondly, and no one has mentioned this, I enjoy the extra room to open my
door all of the way. Some regular parking places give you about 2 feet to open
the door. My knee will bend to about 90 degrees. Any more is pushing it. My other
reason is concenience at work. I have 2 options - park in my designated HC place
close by, or park in the other garage, about a half mile away.
One final question. How many non-handicapers grab that first and closest
parking place. Someone's elderly grandmother could be parking there instead.
