Thanks to Tony and Terry Supan it would appear that Illinois does have a

I am in favor of regulation of O&P as I have spend a lot of money meeting the 
requirements for ABC certification. At one time ABC carried more weight with 
states and the VA, but got lobbied down.

I was a very early supporter of licensure, but what has come to pass I cannot 
fully support any more from what I have seen and heard.

This response was received from the state of Washington today.....


Dear Mr. Pike

We have researched the information you requested and have found 7 complaints
filed with our office against licensed orthotists or prosthetists.

Public complaints filed toward individuals who are not currently licensed to
practice in Washington State would be handled by The Department of Health
Investigative Service Unit.  If you would like more information regarding
complaints received from the public about individuals providing orthotic
and/or prosthetic services who do not meet Washington State licensure
requirements you may contact:
