Thanks for the reply Tom.

Your answer is what I would expect from the majority of amputees being sold
on the C-Leg. The S-N-S knee will meet or exceed the needs of 75% - 85% of
those amputees being fit with the C-Leg at much less cost. The technology has
been available for over 30 years.

You are correct about MOST hydraulic knees.

And those test were conducted for Otto Bock, Yes?

Yes, as you recall from a previous post of mine I was in on the ground floor
with the C-Leg when I was with Otto Bock.

Don't get me wrong I am not knocking the C-Leg it is a great knee system, a
marvel of computer technology. As far as I am concerned it is the ideal knee
for almost all above knee amputees. However, I will say the same thing for
the Rolls Royce automobile and most car owners.

Do most above knee amputees need a C-leg, No. Do most above knee amputees
want a C-leg, Yes. Does marketing in prosthetics work, without question
because of an unfulfilled need of the amputee. Is this need exploitable, only
by keeping the amputee uninformed.
