Friends;
I have 2 files which may be of interest in particular to those with
diabetes, or related to those with diabetes. One which summarizes the
highlights and valuable notes of the national Diabetes convention, and
discusses the latest breakthroughs in research and the truths behind the
headlines of so-called breakthroughs concerning islets cells and stem
cell research. Others may be interested because nearly everyone knows
someone they care about with the diagnosis of diabetes now.

The second is regarding statistics in the general population regarding
eye disease related to diabetes, retinopathy, and how anyone may be at
risk for visual impairment or loss, and how to prevent it. This may
also be of particular interest to those aware of hypertension. The
numbers are staggering.

Not mentioned in the articles, but personally I am aware of the fact
that more people are diagnosed with diabetes through eye exams, than any
other means, and why routine exams should be done, especially if
diabetes runs in your family at all. You may want to have a look at
this article just as a means of general health.
The first attachment is easy reading, the second is as well, but more
clinical and details, and the author summarizes in laymen's terms
nicely.

Because these are larger than a typical post here, I will not drop them
here, but would be more than happy to send ANYONE either or both
attachments if interested. Just send me a private e-mail to
Sasby at attbi.com telling me if you are interested in the first
attachment regarding convention summary, second attachment regarding eye
disease, or both.

Thanks,
StacEy
