Thanks.  I hate to be such a pain in the *ss about things like this but I know absolutely nothing.  I'm glad to hear that the muscles are still functional, at least in part.  Really appreciate your input.

    Thanks. That makes me feel better. I was worried it might just be a lump of useless flesh that would have to be swung back and forth with all attendant circulation issues of inert muscle.

  Jim, I have been a AK amp for almost 35 years and at the last ACA convention The PT in gait analyzes told me to work on both abduction and adduction of both the sound limb and the 'residual limb'. It's so much fun to be PC. So I can now press over fifty lbs with the short side wearing my leg. I would like to get strong enough to go up steps step over step like Todd. But I am 62 so it may take a little time. Work it
