All this talk of working with carbon to strengthen liners is starting to get
of some concern. The material itself is very, very, hazardous. It should not
be treated without respect. Microscopically the fibers are double barbed and
can anchor into skin or mucous surfaces like barbed wire. In addition it is
similar to asbestos, so working with it requires safety conditions.
Reinforced materials such as these in a stable, confined state may appear safer, but
when you cut them the fibers can be free to fly like a dandelion. Protect you
body, including hands, and eyes accordingly, in addition to storing the
material away from potential innocent people.
