     I have an idea about getting pants to slide over the prosthetic
legs. There is a product called Sleeve art from a company called Fred's
Legs. It is a sleeve that fits over the prosthetic leg. The sleeve is
made out of stretchy lycra. It is slick and doesn't fall down. Pants
slide over it easily and it can be pulled high up on the thigh. They are
designed for BKA's. I think they could be made for AKA's. Some of the
talented seamstresses out there could sew their own 

.. The company is on the web     I have  2 BKA prosthetic limbs that are
uncovered. I would like to wear long skirts but the exposed hardware of
my ankle looks strange. I normally walk around in shorts but when I want
to dress up I would like to wear a long dress. I have this idea about
how to cover the pylon and pumps etc. There are these leg coverings
called half chaps used when riding horses. The chap is held onto the
bottom of a shoe by an elastic strap and covers the top of the shoe and
ends just below the knee.There are many different styles.Some look just
like you are wearing a boot if matched with the right shoe or ankle
boot. I have been able to cram on an ankle boot . Sometimes buying a
shoe that is one size bigger makes it easier to put on.It takes a bit of
experimentation.

     I live in Western Washington state. There is a local channel that
has an announcer that is a left arm amputee. He has a metal hand that is
visible while he is on TV. I watch him at 7 am for the local Bellingham
news and for inspiration. He is on channel 12.
