sweating

Hi Wendi
Great to hear that you are staying active, I find being active so good for
the brain. I use an Iceross silicone sleave made by Ossur. When I first
started to use it I would drip sweat when I took it off. 2 years later it is
hardly a problem - I still do the same activities, I just don't seem to
sweat as much. Is this what others have found?
I too have to stop and readjust the leg when it slips off a bit, but I have
always put this down to over bending the leg (ie bending the knee past 90
degrees). No matter how dry and securely fitted the liner is, if I bend the
knee to far the liner starts to slip. Its never come off but it sure feels
funny, sort of like having an extra knee that you can't control.
I get my best exercise from riding my bicycle - it's low impact on the
stump, doesn't over bend my knee, gets my heart rate up and it makes buying
bread milk and the paper a pleasure rather than a chore.
Luckily I live in a flat city as riding up hill can be a bit of hard work
until you get fit enough.
Hope that this is of some use
Duncan
