Dear Jim Sproul

I have a #6 Flexfoot (way too stiff.) What I have noticed is that with
the stiff foot, the end of my tibia slides across my skin with each
step and at times feels like I am tearing the skin off (mainly when I am
light on socks.) I have tested a much more flexible foot (Otto Bock
ID35) and have had much less discomfort from the shearing forces in the
socket.
>From what I haave seen your tibia should not even be hitting the inside
of your socket or else you have a very bad fit. Probably too large cast
of margin after shrinkage of your limb. You are probably going to shrink
a lot more in the next year. From the mobility level and the fit I'd say
it is time to get a new doctor and new prosthetist. The doc evaluated
the mobility level and he is probably unfamiliar with what his script is
setting you at. It happened to me too when I had Novacare and a big city
doc.
