Question about cold stump

Chilly stumps, eh? And yes, winter is here - at least here in PA. It's been in the 5-to-32 F range lately with a touch of snow on the ground - more to come this weekened. Ugh!
I'm a DBKA, so the situation is a bit different from AK - so you'll have a larger stump area to deal with. Are you using a prosthesis, yet? What kind of stump socks, gel liner, etc., do you use? I use 6mm gel liners and 2-3 stump socks to fit my pros. At night, my li'l stumpies get chilly and I need to wear socvks or old shrinkers (1 layer) to keep 'em warm.
I don't know if any ready-made socks will work, or you may want to fashion your own from a warm material. I'd be cautious about using a heating pad - for fear of applying TOO much heat or burning. Maybe extra covers on your bed, on the lower half.
