Maybe because there are those of us who do walk without pain, have not had
the Ertl procedure. The true fact is we are all different. What works for one,
does not work for everyone.
"I'd be interested to the subscribers comments and experiences."
Tony, I did not have the Ertl. Yet I now jog over 3 miles a day. I have
return to Fire Fighting Duty. I am in the gym three to four times a week, right
now I am up to 260 lbs leg pressing with my amputated leg alone.
I give a lot of credit to my CP, who listened to what I wanted to do. He
created a socket to handle (well amost) everything I wanted to do and more. I
also credit the Doctors who did the surgery and the Rehab Doctors, as well as
the PT Staff. Again they heard me out as to what I want to return doing.
I have been a peer visitor to 7 people since my amputation. I never suggest
what procedure they should or should not have. I never suggest what prosthetic
company to use, but I love Ossur. I dont because I know we are each
different.
Lets respect the fact that there are Doctors who can do an amputation, and
allow the amputee to be, (as you stated) a "Super Amp".
