They ground what good bone was left from my amputated bk and filled up tissue that was left over and sewed it to my fib and tib. My fib and tib were cut off even and not staggered like common procedure. It can be a risky way they did mine.. If I fall and damage the bridge, That's all she wrote , it will never heal and my body will absorb bone. I'm a lucky one I have not fallen. but have been close...

In the Ertl procedure, the 2 bones of the lower leg are bridged together with a piece of bone. Try Googling "Ertl" for more info.
