via the Newark, OH Advocate:

GRANVILLE -- The day before her 56th birthday, Deb Warner had an
operation that changed her life.

On May 18, 2010, surgeons at Ohio State University Medical Center
amputated her left foot after months of attempts to treat a wound that
wouldn't heal.

The Granville woman left the hospital in a wheelchair, with months of
rehabilitation and complications ahead of her.

But one step at a time, Warner was able to overcome the obstacles she
faced and regain her mobility.

On April 10, she walked two miles in the annual Kevin J. Mullin
Memorial 5K Run/Walk in Columbus.

For Deb and her husband, Bob Warner, the two-mile walk was a
celebration of her long journey and a bright future.
