[AMP-L] Prosthesis hurts

Hi All

 

I'm a relatively new BKA, and would like to know if it's supposed to hurt
when you first begin using a prosthesis. I don't mean

uncomfortable: I mean hurt. I don't even want to wear it. This is the first
version of my permanent prosthesis I'm talking about. The temporary one
hurt, too, although less so after it was adjusted.

 

Am I just new at it and my stump isn't used to it yet? Should it just be
uncomfortable? How long does this last? When I do wear my prosthesis, I'm
hanging onto my walker or whatever else is handy for dear life.  What should
I expect? And for how long?
