The Grand Illusion Cinema opens it's doors tonight with a Silent Film
Series (one week) and a Master Criminal Series as part of the Latenite
program. There are some seats, so feel free to bring a cozy pillow and
take in a great night of film.

The Phantom Chariot
Victor Sjostrom (1920) 89 min.
Sjostrom wrote and stars in this critically acclaimed tale following an
old legend that whomever should die on New Years Day will be forced to
drive the carriage of the dead. With Ferdinand Zeccas THE RED SPECTRE
(1903).

The second film from the director of THE PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC,

A late masterpiece from one of the silent Soviet pioneers. Preferring
dream-like imagery and allegorical narratives, ZVENIGORA follows a

Fritz Lang (1923-4)
Fritz Langs epic telling of the Nibelungen saga, told in two parts,
SIEGFRIED (@ 7pm) & KRIEMHILDS REVENGE (@ 9pm). Completed two years
before METROPOLIS, this epic easily marks one of the finest achievements
of the cinema.

officers pursuit of a thief.
