Tuesday November 30th 1999 at the University of Washington:
BE PART OF HISTORY! Make your voice heard. Your role as a citizen of the
Earth is more important than another day of class.
Join the "Protest of the Century" against the unsustainable and inhumane
practices of the World Trade Organization.
9:00 a.m. - Rally in Red Square. Walk out, stand up, make a difference!
9:45 a.m. - March from the UW. We have a police escort and trained march
coordinators and peace-keepers to ensure a safe march.
11:15 a.m. - Gather at the Mural Amphitheater at Seattle Center. Join UW
with students from high schools, SCCC, SU and around the country to speak
out about the needs of people, workers and the environment above the needs
of transnational corporate power and profits!
11:45 a.m. - Join the AFL-CIO rally at Memorial Stadium with
representatives from Labor, Student, Human Rights, Consumer,
Environmental, Women's, Third World, First Peoples' and other movements
affected by the corporate-dominated trade policies of the WTO.
12:30 p.m. - March with more than 50,000 global citizens in Seattle and
millions around the world to the WTO meeting at the Washington State
Convention Center. Demand that people and the planet come first. No new
round of "trade liberalization"! Turn around the WTO!
