With over seventy-seven years of community service, Sigma Public Education
and Research (SPEAR) Foundation, an affiliate of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority
Inc., sponsors "Soles for Little Souls." The SPEAR Foundation; primary
mission is to promote social, civic, cultural, economic, and educational
progress of vulnerable or at risk families and communities. This mission
is fulfilled through community service, public education, advocacy, and
social science research.

Remember the excitement you felt as a child as you were about to return to
school in the fall with your new clothes and shoes? Sigma Public
Education and Research (SPEAR) Foundation, does, and would like to
continue that excitement at Matt Kelly Elementary School. The school is
located in an impoverished neighborhood with at least ninety-five percent
of its student are in need of these basic necessities.

Your support in donations of shoes will help brighten the faces of these
poverty-stricken children who are without the basic necessities needed in
everyday life. Join us in stamping out these disparities and bring a
little to the lives of the young people at Matt Kelly Elementary School.

SPEAR believes that children who posses basic items such as toiletries,
shoes, and clothing will make them feel good about themselves, which in
turn help them to become better achievers in life. With your help, Sigma
Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. wants to continue this campaign, by making sure
every child at Matt Kelly Elementary School will have a new pair of shoes
and basic toiletry items at the beginning of the 2000 school year.

To help Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority is having a bake sale at the
Instructional Center from 10:30-2:30pm and a "CakeWalk" at the Ethnic
Cultural Center from 4:30-6:00pm, Tuesday, February 28th, 2000. All
proceeds from this event will go toward donations of "Soles for little
Souls." Also, from February 14th to March 7th a drop box will be at the
Instructional Center.
