Ayako, Brian, Marci, Mike, Nissa, Randy and Ryan:
I wanted to make sure that you guys pass on this FIG Leader application to
your constituents. I think that the FIG program is a great asset to our
campus--however, I am very disappointed at the number of students of color
and other minorities who serve as FIG leaders. This is a great
opportunity to get better representation next year, and to give deserving
students the chance to serve in a positive leadership capacity.
Let me know if you have any questions.
-danica.

The FIG Program is currently recruiting for Peer Instructors for Autumn
quarter 2001. We are looking for students who will be juniors or seniors
next year, from a broad range of backgrounds and with a genuine interest
in the challenges and opportunities facing new UW freshmen. Applications
are available in the Undergraduate Gateway Center, Mary Gates Hall 171 or
on-line at http://depts.washington.edu/nsp/fig/fig.html. Deadline to
apply is Thursday, February 1 at 5:00pm.
Please pass this information on to anyone who might be
interested. Question? Contact figs at u.washington.edu.
Thank you,
Lauren Struck
Student Coordinator
