Please forward to your students/constituents:

We would like to invite everyone to participate in the University of
Washington's annual Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence Awareness Week
which will be occurring April 15th-19th, 2002. There will be many activities
throughout the week on the Quad and the HUB Lawn, and we invite you to come
and look at the displays and participate in using your voice to combat
violence.

In particular, we want to invite everyone to participate in the SELF-DEFENSE
WORKSHOP and the TAKE BACK THE NIGHT RALLY. The self-defense workshop will
be Tuesday the 16th from 6:30-8:00p.m. in HUB 108. The workshop is free and
there is no need to pre-register. Just show up at 6:30p.m. The Take Back the
Night Rally is a time for people to come together to speak out against
violence in our homes, on our campus and in our streets. There is a time for
people to speak, read poetry, or share however they choose-or you can just
come in solidarity and participate by listening to others. The Take Back
the Night Rally will be at 7:00p.m., Thursday April 18th on the HUB
Lawn-rain or shine!

Please share this information with others and invite friends and family to
come with you to these events. We look forward to seeing you there.
