"Time to Thrive, Not Just Survive: Accumulating Advantage for Women in
Science"
University of Washington, Husky Union Building East Ballroom

Dr. Debra Rolison from the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington D.C., a
leading figure in nanotechnology and a strong proponent of women in
science, will present a seminar "Time to Thrive, Not Just Survive:
Accumulating Advantage for Women in Science" concerning the improvement
of women's status in scientific academia through enforcement of Title IX
legislation.

A panel discussion will take place after the seminar regarding how Dr.
Rolison's ideas apply to the science departments at the University of
Washington. Panel members include Dr. Helen Remick, Assistant Provost for
Equal Opportunity, Dr. Denice Denton, Dean of Engineering, Dr. David
Hodge, Dean of Arts and Sciences, Ms. Marie Tuite, Senior Associate
Athletic Director, and Dr. Marsha Landolt, Dean of the Graduate School
(moderator).
