ASUW
Women's Action Commission

Spring Quarter

You may have thought that with the end of Winter Quarter came the end of
WAC's big projects (with there being no more Monologues or fashion show or
whatnot.) This would be false. This quarter, we have a panel on abortion
rights (which is this Wednesday! Link in the left column), the Diversity
Summit with the other commissions on April 5th, Semana de la Mujer and a
self-defense course in April, Women's Health Week in May, and more! We
will also be working on reproductive health-related campaigns. More
information on these events is forthcoming! Stay up-to-date on these by liking
WAC on Facebook <http://facebook.com/ASUW.Women>.

Have ideas for projects? Want to help with any of our programs or advocacy
efforts? Want to just come hang out with other women and female-identified
students? Come to our WAC Attack meetings! This quarter, they will be
*Wednesdays
at 3:30 in Condon 511B*!

Interested in being next year's WAC Director? Go to jobs.asuw.org for more
information and to apply! The application closes Sunday, April 29th.

News from other groups:

SARVA (Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence Activists) aim to raise
awareness about sexual violence and promote a culture of healthy sexuality
and relationships here at UW. Part of their programming this year is the
Clothesline Project, a project in which students decorate plain t-shirts
with their thoughts and feelings about sexual assault and relationship
violence that will later be put on display. If you'd like to be a part of
this project, send an email to Robin Sacks at asuwadsa at uw.edu and she'll
make sure all the supplies you need to contribute will be brought to you.

About WAC

The ASUW Women's Action Commission is one of eight diversity commissions
founded by the Associated Students of the University of Washington. Each
commission has a mandate to put on educational programs each quarter, as
well as serve and advocate for its constituency within the student
government and the administration.
